Forest District Habrůvka has a seat in Křtiny. Work contents of this classical forest organization unit in the management of university land property consist in special-purpose activities for the MZLU Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, and in economic actual which includes silvicultural and logging operations governed by FMP valid for 2003-2012, forest protection, agriculture, execution of shooting rights, etc.
Forest District Habrůvka operates 4,006 ha of forests divided into 5 forest ranges. The forest stands stretch from Adamov and from Jedovnice in the East up to the town of Blansko and the recreational and aesthetic function of the forest is very important, being amplified by elements of the Forest Pantheon. Two arboreta (Křtiny and Habrůvka) serve for study and relaxation. Natural environment is of high value with 7 nature reserves (of which 2 are national nature reserves) whose origin is in a pattern of nature reserves established at TFE Křtiny by Prof. Alois Zlatník. Parent rock is limestone with granodiorite and Culmian grawacks in the western section of the forest district. Main forest tree species are beech with larch and spruce. Annual cut is 26,400 m3, forestation of 30 ha and tending measures include 56 ha of cleaning and 197 ha of thinning.
