Sawmill Olomučany – Conversion Depot

The unit is situated on the premises of Sawmill Olomučany as one of its operations.

Main technology of the unit is a Baljer-Zembrod cross-cutting line which was put into operation in 1999. It consists of a proper cross-cutting Baljer-Zembrod machine (Model OB/30V-R.D.-EA) with a hydraulic log grapple Model OBX II. and a rail track of 100 m. Annual capacity of the line is about 25,000 m3.

The operation is responsible for the complete cross-cutting and sorting of large-diameter whole-stem logs delivered from the TFE forest stands, and for subsequent supplies of logs to the main and small sawmills. At the present time, the processed timber is half-to-half consisting of deciduous and coniferous wood mass.
