The Rícmanice arboretum

The second arboretum of TFE Křtiny is situated in forests between Řícmanice and Babice nad Svitavou, i.e. some 17 km from the centre of the Moravian metropolis of Brno. Here too one can find beautiful nature with an unrepeatable view into the meadow in the heart of the arboretum. The arboretum was established in the 1960s thanks to the effort of Doc. Jindřich Chmelař. On an area of 6 hectares the local collection of more than 100 coniferous tree species is greatest in the Czech Republic one of them being for example one of the biggest specimens of Araucaria araucana occurring in the Czech Republic.

The Řícmanice Arboretum is open to public only once a year during the Day of Open Doors held at all times on Saturday in the third February decade (09.00-17.00). Collective excursions are welcome throughout the year after a prior agreement (Tel. 516 428 811, E-mail: slp@slpkrtiny.cz). The basic tour takes about an hour.

Entrance fee per person is 20.00 CZK, collective entrance fee for organized excursions above 20 persons is 500.00 CZK including a guide. School children, students and pensioners are provided a 50% reduction, children up to 10 years free of charge.
